Rick Brister began using ChatGPT for more than answers. It became a working partnership: a place to question ideas, challenge assumptions, organize information, solve problems, write, design, build, and see what happened when a rough thought was pushed far enough to become useful.
Gradually, the conversations became projects. Some were practical. Some were experimental. Some were serious, and some were built simply because they were interesting or fun. What they shared was a recurring instinct: when something felt scattered, frustrating, repetitive, confusing, or unnecessarily difficult, there was probably a better way to handle it.
A rhythm developed. Rick brought lived experience, judgment, questions, humor, skepticism, and the final decisions. Chat helped research, organize, challenge, write, design, code, document, and turn unfinished ideas into things that could actually be used and tested.
By 2026, there were enough products, experiments, publications, and new ideas on the workbench that they needed a home of their own. That collection became RAB Products LLC.
The company is still built the same way it started: through conversation, disagreement, curiosity, iteration, and the belief that useful ideas do not need to begin perfectly. They need to be questioned, worked on, tested, corrected, and improved.
The technology matters, but it is not the point. The point is what can be made more useful, more understandable, or simply less difficult for the person who eventually has to deal with it.
